Did you know that one in eight babies are born prematurely – in the UK that’s over 80,000 babies every year
Ickle Pickles are the smallest and sickest babies who need intensive care in Neonatal Units – the NHS cares for over 20,000 ickle pickles every year.
In 1975, half of all babies born too early, weighing less than 1.5kg (3.3 lbs) died. Today 90% of premature babies who weigh 800g or more (equivalent to a bag of sugar) survive. That’s an incredible improvement! And a true testament to the devoted and dedicated Neo-Natal teams across the country.
To continue this trend, the Ickle Pickle Partnership turns gifts from generous people into specialised equipment to help Neonatal units provide incredible levels of care for Ickle Pickles.
Their first appeal will benefit St George’s Hospital and we wish them lots of success!
